Continuing to talk about WordPress site speed, I had mentioned cleaning up post revisions in your database to make it smaller and get rid of unnecessary entries.
If you’re comfortable working with MySQL and your WordPress database, you can run a query to clean-up the post revisions:
DELETE FROM `wp_posts` WHERE `post_type` = ‘revision’;
There are database management plugins for WordPress but I highly suggest you avoid that. If you aren’t comfortable using phpMyadmin (default on most hosting environments), then you should contact your host.
If you want to completely get rid of Post Revisions, you can edit wp-config.php by adding this line:
define(‘WP_POST_REVISIONS’, false);
If you have multiple authors you may not want to turn that off, but rather adjust WordPress Post Revisions settings. There is a plugin named Revision Control that can help you fine tune and better control revisions.
